READ THE NEWS CAREFULLY, because many of its sources are biased and twist the facts--Killing of Said Odeh

Here’s why all humans need to study the NEWS very carefully and read multiple sources before making decisions!

The first 2 news sources make it look like the Israeli Army murders teens such as Said Odeh.

HOWEVER, when one reads other news sources, the facts show that DIDN'T HAPPEN, and that both Jews and Palestinians are attacking innocent civilians of each other:-( after wrongs done by both nationalities!

“If you pay taxes in the U.S., Israeli forces used your money to murder Said Odeh, a 16-year-old boy from a village south of Nablus yesterday. Israeli forces shot Said twice in his back with live ammunition while he was entering his own village. They shot another youth as he approached Said to provide aid…The U.S. must stop enabling these murders NOW. Rest in peace and power, Said."
Jewish Voice for Peace News https://jewishvoiceforpeace.org/

-- “He was struck with live ammunition in the back near his right shoulder and pelvis and both bullets exited from the front, according to information collected by DCIP. “Israeli forces routinely unlawfully kill Palestinian children with impunity, using intentional lethal force against Palestinian children when they pose no threat,” said Ayed Abu Eqtaish…” Palestinian News https://www.dci-palestine.org/israeli_forces_shoot_kill...

How horrific! BUT WAIT A SECOND. There is FAR MORE to the actual news story that the Jewish and the Palestinian news didn’t give:

“…troops returned fire at suspects who hurled Molotov cocktails at them while they were carrying out operation near Beita in West Bank…against the backdrop of a Palestinian terror attack at the Tapuah Junction four days earlier that left one Israeli teen dead and two others wounded.

The incident was followed by several apparent retaliatory attacks by Israeli settlers, including the storming of a Palestinian village in the predawn hours of Monday morning, where they threw rocks and stun grenades and started fires.

Clashes broke out between the residents of Jaloud village and the Israelis from the nearby Shiloh settlement, whereupon IDF soldiers and Border Police attempted to break up the fighting by firing rubber-coated bullets and other riot dispersal weapons at the Palestinians, injuring four of them. Eleven Palestinian residents of the village were arrested by the IDF. No settlers were arrested. Several police vehicles’ tires were punctured by the Israelis.” https://www.timesofisrael.com/

WHY WERE PALESTINIANS ARRESTED BUT NOT THE JEWISH SETTLERS WHO ATTACKED THE VILLAGE THROWING ROCKS, STUN GRENADES AND STARTED FIRES?

But wait, why did the Jews attack the village? Because they blamed all Palestinians, it appears for what one lone Palestinian gunman did 4 days earlier when he shot 3 Jews, killing one at Tapuah Junction.

BE CAREFUL to read multiple news sources since many of them give biased, distorted facts.

In the Light of what is TRUE, JUST, AND CARING,

Dan Wilcox

The Israeli - Palestinian conflict has been going on for centuries. No matter what our opinion about it is, it will probably keep going on, and on, and on.
For me, I stand with Israel - possibly because I am "biased", as I have jewish friends and know people that live in Israel, and read their posts/encounters with reality of war.
For what it's worth, micro-analyzing the news is not my thing, either. Whether pro- or anti-Palestinian, each side has something they do not want mentioned.
The best thing to do is to find a (live) witness and read/listen to what that witness has to say.

Hi Katya,

Thanks for stopping to read and commenting.

What have you been up to lately? It's been sort of crazy around here after my stroke, then COVID, and grandkidsitting.

As you already know, I've listened to both sides. I traveled to Palestine-Israel with a Jewish guy I met in Greece. We both signed up to work on a kibbutz near Bet Shean in the northern part of Israel, a mile from the Palestinian border. I worked there from June 1974 to January 1, 1975. Also, I met a Palestinian family and were their guests at their home in Nablus. Etc.

The huge problem is that most on both sides are nationalistic self-centered, some are religiously intolerant especially HAMAS.

Palestinians attacked innocent civilians in an apt. complex only a mile from our farm, shooting families down because they were Jewish:-(

But I also, know that innocent Palestinians have been killed, abused, their homes destroyed, their olive trees cut down, etc. Heck, the Israel Army bulldozed an innocent Palestinian family's orchard, even though the family has tried to be friendly toward Israelis, even though the Israeli government is trying to take their land away that has been in their family for over 100 years!

The real answer is sharing, listening, caring, giving, peacemaking. But most days it is hard to hope. SINCE Republicans and Democrats in the U.S. totally distort and lie about each other, even some of them physically attack the other side and vandalize, etc., and this is the United States, it seems difficult to imagine, Israelis and Palestinians doing better. But there are some peace groups trying such as Combatants for Peace, a group made up of former Jewish and Muslim soldiers who now are working for reconciliation and peace.
