Answering the Untrue Propaganda Against Hillary by Christian Leader, Jim Garlow

This year's election is such a propagandistic, political mud-slinging mess, I've tried to stay out of the pit,
but the anit-Hillary FB article by Jim Garlow,
the famous Christian minister of Skyline Church in San Diego,
is too filled with errors to let it pass:

JIM GARLOW
>>1. The Democratic and Republican party platforms are as >>different as
>>night and day, evil vs. good.

MY RESPONSE to the Christian leader, Jim Garlow
(See picture on the right of he and his wife)

#1 Your statement against the Democratic Party is incorrect.
Let me emphasize that I am NOT a Democrat, have opposed almost every Democratic candidate
for over 30 years, mainly because of their pro-abortion views.

BUT

The Democratic Party Platform isn't "evil."

On the contrary, many of its planks are extremely good--opposing torture, opposing human trafficking,
supporting racial equality, human rights, reforming the criminal justice system, promoting arts and culture, supporting small
businesses, ending poverty, working for the environment, etc.

JIM GARLOW
>>The 51 page Democratic platform is absolutely
the worst ever! An anti-biblical, radical left wing pagan socialist (a
>>socialist is a communist without a gun) would be thrilled with it.

Daniel Wilcox
#2 Jim Garlow needs to remember to "speak the truth in love." (Ephesians 4:15)

The Democratic Platform isn't "anti-biblical," except on abortion.

"Radical leftwing" isn't wrong.

Some of the greatest leaders of history were "radical leftwing," including U.S. Law-violating members of the Wesleyan Church!

Your founders helped run the illegal Underground Railroad, were for prison reform, were the first to ordain women in 1853,
cared for the impoverished, etc.

Sounds very Democratic!

Where is there any "pagan" in the Democratic Platform?

JIM GARLOW
>>Both candidates are flawed. We all know that. >>But
>>permit me an analogy: As a pastor I would rather deal with a >>church
>>attender who is blatant and brash in his sinning than one who is >>devious,
>>hidden, lying, cunning, surreptitious and deceptive.

Daniel Wilcox
#3 Your statement is not only slanderous, it's untrue.

Actually, I'm against voting for Hilary.
I oppose many of her views including her pro-abortion stance,
her support for U.S. first-strike wars in Iraq, Libya, etc.

BUT your personal attack claims against Hillary are incorrect, in fact are slanderous.

Please read her autobiography or a scholarly biography. I've followed her political views and ethical positions through the years.

She is a dedicated religious individual who I disagree with.

But she is sincere, is brilliant, hard-working, and dedicated to helping others.

Don't take my word for it; read her own words:

Hillary Clinton:
"I am a person of faith. I am a Christian. I am a Methodist. My study of the Bible...
has led me to believe the most important
commandment is to love the Lord with all your might and to love your neighbor as yourself, and that is what I think we are commanded by Christ to do."

"And there is so much more in the Bible about taking care of the poor, visiting the prisoners, taking in the stranger,
creating opportunities for others to be lifted up..."
"I think there are many different ways of exercising your faith.”

“I do believe that in many areas judgment should be left to God, that being more open, tolerant and respectful is part of what makes me humble about my faith. I am in awe of people who truly turn the other cheek all the time, who can go that extra mile that we are called to go, who keep finding ways to forgive and move on.”

“For me, the Social Principles of the Methodist Church have been as much a description of our history, as a prod for my future actions."

“We can find direction, if we look to the church’s call to strengthen families and renew our schools and encourage policies
that enable each child to have a chance to fulfill his or her God-given potential.”

She prays regularly, reads her Bible, has been part of women's prayer groups, etc.

JIM GARLOW
>>...we have NEVER seen any one major party candidate
>>so constantly
>>scandalous, so evil-consumed as Hillary.

>>She exceeds ALL >>previous
>>boundaries for wrong doing.

Daniel E. Wilcox
#4 WHAT?!

Exactly, how is Hillary "so evil-consumed"?

Your statement is not true, is historically inaccurate, and downright unworthy of any leader to claim of another leader.

JIM GARLOW
>> In the meantime, we prayerfully, carefully
>>navigate this challenging election season, with great concern >>that above
>>all, we honor our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in every arena of >>our lives,
>>including the voting booth. That is my hope. It is yours as well.

Daniel Wilcox
#5 Conclusion:
Then you need to remember to speak the truth, not make false statements about others. And even where you disagree
strongly, you need to remember not to attack the person, calling her very negative terms.

Instead, explain carefully why you disagree.

And point out areas in which you both agree.

Please read a little history on your own denomination and it's radical founders who supported social justice.

Please leave politics and religion and, instead, seek the Truth.

In the Light,
